600RR beats GSXR 1000
My mechanic said he beat a Gixxer 1k at the track. The guy on the gixxer couldn't believe it happened and wanted to race again. Well he beat him again, said he left him at the starting line. I'd have to see that for myself.
i dont know the exact numbers from numerous magazine testers (god that sounds bad
), but i think that may have been more of a rider dependent outcome.

thats a common sense race right their. Ive heard stories of 600 pulling on 1000's myself. obviously its the rider. :brain Fart: ohhhhhhh

Any racing on a bike always comes down to the rider. I beat a modded (sprocket set, chain, and exhaust)03 750 because he pulled up the front on a 40 mph roll in 2nd gear when i just had a slip on.
SO yeah, i can believe a 600 beating a 1000 because the rider was in-experienced/or could have been taking it a little easy.

I don't know how good of a rider was on the gixxer but yeah the rider makes a big diiference sometimes.
There was a gixxer 1k that creeped up on me at 45mph, he bumped up to 50 I bumped to 50 then he bumped to 55, Then I shook my head let's go! And I left him there, he never caught me. I thought it was a 750 by how bad I'd left him, it had the same colors as the 750. When I found out it was a 1000 I couldn't believe I beat him so bad, one of my buddies told me the guy is scared to ride hard. If that's so why did he challenge me? Goes to show u some people think their bike is the fastest one out there no matter how they ride.

I was expecting like a scientific comparison then I get <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 900RRBikerBoy »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">My mechanic said he beat a Gixxer 1k at the track. 1st of all.. unless the same guy tests both bikes, you're not gonna get anything close to comparing the bikes.
2nd.. unless the guy testing the bike is absolutely consistent in his riding abilities.. ie a seasoned racer or track day instructor or some ****.. you're not gonna get anything close to comparing the bikes.
3rd.. believe it or not, not all bikes coming off an assembly line are created equal. You can get one R6 to pull 100hp and another will pull 108hp... one right after another. Let alone temperature, humidity, and just plain surface conditions.

If the guy on the gixxer was at the track like he already knew what he was doing and got spanked, he probably wanted to prove it was a fluke. And yes we can get scientific but I didn't. I just would have liked to see the look on his face when it happened.
As I stated in my previous post some people believe that if their bike is the fastest one tested from the factory that they can't be beat no matter how they ride.

I beat a Bandit 1200 that had hotter cams and had been bored. My bike was factory stock then. I raced him on the street, a buddy told me he saw that guy beat Busas at the track.
I was lining up to race an 02 954 (I had already beat one of those and told him) and the guy never lined up. So this Bandit is lined up so I say what the hell I'd like to see how I could do against it, he knows how to race and has been doing it a long time. Two people were tellin me that I could beat him but I didn't believe it.
Long story short, no contest beat him by four lengths. Yes it does come down to the rider and u have to be ready every time. Like the consistancy u were speaking of.

I know of a stock gsxr 1K that runs stronger than most. The guy who owns it doesn't race but he let someone else ride it. I saw three races between two other 1ks and and the winner of all three races got beat by his gixxer.

U can't underestimate any size bike out there. They catch u off guard and it's over.
I raced a ZX6R once, I let him take off thinking I would run him down, I didn't catch him in time. In the next two races I didn't lax up on him and I won. I learned later that he had some motor work and other stuff done to it. Mine was still stock.

That depends on the track and rider. Since I'm more in to road course, having a liter bike fly by me is not a big deal because I can try to out brake him into the next corner. Tighter tracks favors lighter weight bikes, which can carry more corner speed, where most heavier bikes have to brake early and lose the momentum.

Sport bikes comes down to who the better rider is... for instance I was at the track racing my friend with an R1 and we clocked both in the 12's but his trap speed was much higher than mine. Bikes=All Rider.

I gotta say, as an every day bike i would rather own a 1K bike (though i haven't ridden the post 02' ones) i like the extra bottom end power. i don't always like to red line the bike around town to go a little fast. but as for going to the track, im no where skilled enough to take a new liter bike to it so id stick to the 600...

has nothing to do with weight. most newer litre bikes are lighter than your f4i. i know my 954 is. it also has better brakes so im sure it could out brake your bike.
litre bikes (with the right rider) should beat a 600 on the track. a 600 can generally hold slightly better corner speed due to power delivery.

a bandit is 500lbs dry and 100hp stock if its lucky. even if he was magically able to squeeze 20hp out of it, the power to weight ration is still lower than most 600's.
the reason why you're beating larger bikes is that it is really hard to launch with 140+hp and 70 ftlbs of torque on a 400lb bike. i cant go WOT in first or second on my 954 without lofting the front on my 954 and thats with all my weight over the front end. basically i'd be partial throttle throughout most of the race because 2nd gear hits about 115-120mph.
if you look at the professional runs in the magazines, there is only a difference of a fraction of a second between a 600 and 1k.

So why in the hell would you even create this topic and sound so amazed that a 600cc bike could "beat" a 1000cc bike?
Your post I quoted makes you sound like you already knew all of this, therefore rendering this topic totally retarded.

Just for reference, I'll revisit your intial post in this topic:

See the bolded text? That makes it seem like you almost don't believe it could happen. Only after everone posted that it's common since that a shitty rider = shitty times did you come back with that "don't underestimate any size bike" stuff like you're the expert.
...and don't get all upset - I'm not trying to hurt your feelings, just ribbing on you a bit.
