stupid me -- new bike...
Well as i posted earlier i bought a brand new 04 f4i and it got delivered yesterday.... i have ridden a honda silverwing before so i figured they would be similar....... well after stalling the bike out 6 or 7 times it went.... but nnot where it was supposed to.... it went down on the right side of the bike.... breaking my mirror, bending my front brake handle forward, breaking my right turn signal, and scratching up my right fairing some. Pics of the bike new and pics of the bike a little bit rashed will be up later this week... took the pics and don't have the link for the camera..... Flame if you want but everyone makes mistakes...

sorry to hear about the bike going down, but I did the same **** the 1st time I rode my bike. It happens, just make sure and learn from it, and be safe!
So this is why they call me Kickstand.
I was just getting prettywell known in the community when one of my friends says "Hey you need to meet a few more people." A few people turned into a crowd of 25+ riders, some I knew, some I didn't.
I pulled up, stopped, put my kickstand down, leaned my bike over..... and it kept going. There really isn't a better way to shut up that many riders all at the same time.
What happened is my kickstand snapped back up and I didn't notice. We all had a good laugh over it because there was NO damage to my bike aside from a shorter peg on my rear set.
The name stuck, and now most barely know my real name.
Sorry this happened to you babe, but atleast you're secure enough to share.

well i'm not beating myself up over it... other people are saying how they would be soo pissed and all that but i'm not that pissed about it cause i knew it was coming.... i'm not gonna replace most of the parts until i'm more experienced... and its relieving to know that i'm not the only one who has done this...

dude dont worry about it.. i had never ridin a bike before but i have ridin dirt bikes.. and everyone i talked to said its just like a dirt bike (wrong).. but anyways i was just starting out, and i let the clutch out a little the bike started to move but i didnt pick my feet up. and as it moved my hand opened up the throttle all the way, and the bike did a little bit of a burn out to a wheelie as i was flailing behind it like an idiot, then i slammed on the front brake and did an endo.. thank god i didnt drop it but i couldnt face my friends or my neighbors for about a week..
On another note... is there someplace i can get good replacement parts when it comes time to buy them... I'm looking for someplace with relatively good prices and very reliable....
my buddy had a kickstand incident twice in 3 days. i just flat out forgot to put my kickstand down because the autoparts store was about to close and we needed some rtv.
just jumped off my bike with no kickstand, even left the keys in it. i heard it happen and just looked at it and left it on the ground until i got my stuff and came outside and picked it up and rode off. i was getting some wierd looks

Oh yeah? That could be arranged
I live in South Lake Union & I'm our riding everday... unless it looks like it does right now outside. I'm sick of living in a puddle.
ps this 5 post a day thing BLOWS.

I dropped my fy first bike, 03' DRZ-400. I was pulling out from a stop sign onto a busier street. As I made the turn, i had to go up hill a little. well before i knew it i staled the bike and was on my side. I had been riding for about 2 months when that happened. I fell several other times in the dirt but that was nothing big. I hate off road riding.
If i hadn't taken the MSF, im sure i would had crashed the first day i got my bike.
"thinking about getting a bike? before you do anything go take the MSF!"

AHHH, the the ol' U-Turn-on-an-incline-crap-I-just-dropped-my-bike stunt.... I pulled that one off a couple of years ago
You will go down 1000 times more when you are going slow versus moving, and it's always your own fault, bummer man.
