Default Clutch freeplay adjusting sucks!!

Well, I tried for 2 hours to adjust the freeplay in my clutch and I couldn't do it. You have to be some sort of hobbit to work under the dash. Anyone who has adjusted their clutch knows what I'm talking about. I can't get the bolt off the rod that goes into the master cylinder. The rod just spins with the bolt. I know there is another black bolt on top of the adjusting bolt but how in the hell are you supposed to get to it?? Some of you might be wondering why I'm adjusting the excess freeplay. I think using the Autolock for 2 years caused the extra freeplay. When I'm at idle I hear this faint chirping sound, which never existed a few weeks ago, and no it's not the SRI. So if i gently apply about half an inch of my clutch the sound goes away. Now keep in mind this before the disengagement point of the clutch. So I test it several more times and it is related to the clutch pedal. I get someone else to test it and they concur with my findings. I can't figure out how applying the clutch pedal very slightly makes the chirping disappear. I'm only moving the pedal about 1/2 inch. I think adjusting the freeplay would help this problem. Someone give me ideas on how to get that damn adjusting bolt off
