Default New Honda Guy.

i just recently got into the honda scene. i have been a dsm guy for years, and i still love them. but im one of those rare few who can see the good in both.

anyway. i own a 91 crx si. i love driving it, very much like a go kart. its a fun car, but it is too damn slow. sooo. i need a new motor. now in the dsm world, one motor is god, the 4G63. this is something that no one can argue. but here in the honda world i can see people can not agree. b16 this, b18 that. bla bla. now coming to be a honda guy, i like this whole v-tec thing. something i always got crap from honda guys for driving a gsx. so, i like v-tec, i want a fast and fun motor. now, i see alot more people think that b18s are faster and have more torque, and they are cheeper, bla bla. i do not need the fasted honda on the block, i dont need to win races. i just want a quick fun car. so does anyone here feel putting a b16 into a crx is a bad idea? once again, i dont care what is faster or has more hp. so, let me know.

A B16 isnt bad, I have mine and its great. I personally dont care about b18's because to me its not much a change in torque. Yes there are a lot of arguements about which is better but I'm satisfied with my b16 and the good things about any b series engine is the large aftermarket support, parts are interchangeable and a great powerplant for a CRX. Do you plan on turbo or NA, because some prefer the non VTEC motors for turbo. Anyways welcome to the honda side of cars. Also check out this site for motor choices http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/...gines

You can make your stock motor "fun". If your pocketbook is deep and you want to have tons of fun then get the k20a!! Thats the definition of fun. Something that is reliable but will make people look twice and say damn! Good luck. Glad to have you in the "honda" world!

if you want the torque get a jdm b20 with the higher compression and run it straight no vtec head, maybe a set of cams

Aww man, even though I've been a Honda guy for my whole life...
I've never seen a car with such good traction from a dead stop as a GSX...
Never seen a car with such top end either. I was driving one time in my EK, and a GSX came by and we were going like 80..and u hear him drop down and that thing moved like no other machine I've ever seen.

Also have never seen a car break down so much, never seen a car go throuhg clutches and trannys, never ever stay cool to the point of warping cylinder heads and changing head gaskets more then adding fuel. I had 2 of them and will never own another, granted there fast and torquey, engine design is garbage and way inferior to the layout of a b16a. The only thing that motor ever had going for it was having a cast iron block so young retards could just crank up the boost on there "oh so cool" 14b turd spinners

Welcome to the confusing Honda world. Especially if you want to learn all the engine codes. :D Takes its time.

But well worth of practicing. You can confuse anyone when you start talking about the honda's motor codes. :D
