i have read threads on HT about the DC SS header and its poopoo doodoo quality. i have had my JDM DC SS header for about 6-8 months now and it looks like complete ***. i had a comptech header for about 2 years and it didnt even look REMOTELY as bad as this DC SS header. how do you clean the "*****" off the header near the head???? or can you. would ceramic be a better choice???? i like the JDM DC performance, but never had a ceramic header. any negatives????

 

Try a very fine grit sandpaper, spend some time sanding down the primaries. Then use some sort of stainless steel polish and wipe down. I just did mine this weekend, and the header is already turning a nice golden color, no purple-ish brown tarnishing.

 

there is nothing wrong with the header. You know with SS, once its heated up, it wil turn into a goldish kind of color. It will stay that color forever unless you touch it and leave oil marks and watever u leave when u touch stuff. Once its heated, it will stay on the header forever. Its not the header's fault. I have taken my header off and on bunch of times and dont car how my header looks, so it looks *** for me, but thats just because i touched it everywhere.

Just get header wraps and wrap the header so you wont c it n e more.
