Default K20A2 or K24A2

ok im looking for the best swap K-series, and all i keep hearing is K24 bottom and K20 head. But when i look around the K20A2 and K24A2 make same horse power but the K24A2 makes more ft-lbs. Is there any real difference to the heads of the K20A2 to the K24A2? (besides that the K20 is ported more)

They make the same hp but the K24's 200 hp will move the car quicker than the K20's 200hp.

The difference between the heads is in the casting. The K24 has EGR porting built in (but not used) and water ports are a little different. The port sizes on the K20A2 and K24A2 are the same size.

There is a difference in the cams and the VTC also. The difference is explained well on the Hondata web site. http://www.hondata.com

I suggest whichever one is easier to get.

That depends entirely on the future modifications of the engine. I would probably reccomend the K24A2 head initially, the cams and intake manifold are better designed for the low revving long stroke engine.

ok these are my plans, i plan on a Jackson Supercharger, fully ported head with full valve train. The block will be stock sleeves with probably crower rods and JE pistons. So should i just go with the full K24A2 swap? Thank you

the bigger the better yes. but you wont be able to rev as high. so your limited to 7600's or so.

if u get a k24swap. i think u would have to run different intake manifold and throttle body. cause the k24 has electronic throttle body. but other than that, that **** rips. my hommie has k24 w/ a type r head. that make some crazy power and torque. it's a very good investment.

Get the K24 swap... its a lot cheaper...
and since you already plan on getting rods and pistons and instead of buy a supercharger, keep that 3 grand and spend it on:
RBC intake manifold
stage3 skunk2 cams
Skunk2 valve train
2.6L stroker kit
and labour
a nice exhaust manifold
custom header back exhaust

all motor is better and more constant
