A friend of mine was in town for the week and gave me a call asking me if I wanted to meet up. I pulled into our meeting spot to see him sitting on his "new" motorcycle.

It's a 2002 Kawasaki ZX6R (I believe that's what he said it was) that he bought with 3,XXX miles for $3,200. Some spoiled rich kid couldn't keep up his grades so his dad sold the bike he bought him.
Well, after about an hour of begging, pleading and promising if I dropped it he could kill me he FINALLY let me take it for a spin. I have been on mopeds, scooters, dirtbikes, four-wheelers etc. quite a few times and wouldn't consider getting on a motorcycle like that if I didn't believe I could handle it.
Hoooly **** I am SOLD. Even though all I did was take it for a quick spin around the parking lot (maybe 1/4 mile max), I was amazed the WHOLE time. I am SOLD on getting a bike now. I have always wanted one but have never really had the opportunity to even sit on one let alone ride one until now. Now that I have ridden one it's a must.
Even cooler news is that Jeff (the guy in the pictures) also has his old bike that he said he wouldn't mind letting me take off his hands
It's a '95 Katana 600 with 7,000 miles that he said he will let go for REAL cheap.
Anyways, just thought I would share some pictures and the story of my first ride. Hopefully I will be visiting this forum a lot more in the near future.

He had shoes and jeans and a leather jacket. It was just hot as hell and we weren't going anywhere soon so he changed.

Great bike! I have a 2002 ZX6R and I love it! On a side note I was out riding the other day and came across a guy riding a gixxer wear a T-shirt, shorts and flip flops I thought that was crazy! Anyways are you going to buy the katana??

The katana is down near ann arbor and I have to work every day this week. As soon as I have a day off, we will hopefully drive down there and get it. Even if I decide not to buy it, he has no one else to ride with in town so he said I could just ride that with him the rest of the summer.

That is one of the most attractive bikes I have seen in town. There is something about it that just yells "awesome".
He has a D&D pipe sitting in his garage for it, but even with the stock exhaust that thing sounded amaaaazing.

UPDATE: Jeff got into a car accident and totaled his car so the bike is now up for sale. Like I said before, he bought the bike for $3,200 and is willing to sell it to me for $4,000. However, I have to sell my summer car first before I can buy it and he is really strapped for a car/money so I'm just hoping he keeps it long enough.
I really don't know jack **** about the value of motorcycles so someone help me out. It's a 2002 Kawasaki ZX6R with 7,000 miles. I guess the previous owner had it bored out to a 750. The rear wheel was just replaced. Ummm, he is including the helmet with the bike. That's about all I can think of. $4,000 seems like a hell of a deal though, is it?
HOPEFULLY, I will be a regular in this forum soon
