Guys,
A friend of mine has a SI 2003 CIVIC.
He wants to upgrade ECU, is there someone or company who sells these chipped , so to replace the Stock one.
besided Hondata, or is there a hondata expert which can be mailed for Questions , before doing something.
Also> if the downpipe will be changed with the Catalic Conv, will the Chek engine come on? yes I think so, but can we avoid this?to come one, by using a Racing cat converter?

Hondata is the only place selling modded ECU's for the K-Series that I am aware of. AEM has their EMS out for the K-Series too, but that is hardcore stuff, and wasted unless you are doing an extreme build. Best bet is to check out Hondata's website. http://www.hondata.com. They have a forum on there too, and are pretty good about answering questions.
As far as the downpipe issue there are a couple of solutions. Easiest, but most expensive is to get K-Pro which is Hondata's programmable ECU. With that you can just turn off the OBD-II sensors, so no CEL. Otherwise you can buy an O2 sim from some place like Caspers, or there is a DIY mod for the secondary O2 sensor to move it out of the exhaust flow so you shouldn't get a CEL. Check over on http://www.k-series.com for the DIY.

Many thanks for the wonderfull Info, to be honest K-series really knocks me out, I prefer personally B-series, but I wanted to help this guy with some info.
appreciate it.
appreciate it.
the k series family is going up
, it'd still feel nice to have the 98 itr.
as far chipping ecu's, i'd only trust the professionals, hondata.
yes, your check engine light will come up when the o2 sensor is taken off from the set-up. you'd need an o2 simulator (casper o2 sim/ homemade)
