CAI are supposed to give a bit more hp
Its harder to change or clean the filter with CAI
Biggest thing with CAI is its possible to hydro-lock, although its really hard to
CAI are generally more pricey
Thats about it really. Most people will tell you to just get a CAI, I got an SR cause Im paranoid and cheap

ive heard short ram you feel the gains more in the low end, cai you feel the gains more in the top. but thats just hear say and butt dyno stuff. I got a short ram and I love it
i know from my experience of have a short ram and getting fabbing it to a cold air that short ram SUCKS when it's hot out. it gets very heat soaked and low end power goes down.
my vote what be a short ram with a insulated box around it pullin in cold air from the fenderwell.

If you go cold air intake then you can buy a bypass valve from AEM, about 40-50 bucks so you wont be suckin up any water through it
im in california sanjose so water isnt really problem, but CAI makes it faster? im a noob, so correct me if im wrong, low end = low speed(?) , high end = higher speed as in 70mph + (?)
The truth on intakes...
Shorter = better for high rpms (assuming same air temp)
Longer = better for mid-range (assuming same air temp again).
The CAI will "Feel" better...actually HP gains would prolly be roughly the same on the overall picture given a basically stock vehicle and that a short ram sucks (usually) hot air from the engine bay which is over 100 degrees on any given day.
Either one is fine, if you can get fresh air to them though...CAIs -are- however mildly dangerous because of the hydrolock garbage...the bypass valve eliminates the small diff. in power for the CAI over the SRI...so if you are driving this thing on the street and don't want to take chances...
go with the short ram, and build a heatshield box...and pipe cold outside in to the box.

I had a CAI on my 95 Si/VTec H22A1...performance gains are going to be about the same. If you want a CAI bad enough I have my AEM CAI (Red) and I can ship it to you for about 150. Used for roughly 2,000 miles.
