Default clutch question

Hello my eg is making a chattering noise and my mechanic says its the release bearing, i already have the parts and a little extra goodies purchased in hand goodie being a good clutch and 8 lb flywheel, i bought all of this thinking i would have the money to get everything put on by my mechanic but he is still wanting about 425 to install everything, what i'm wondering is would someone like myself with very good mechanical apptitude and acess to proper tools...minus the lift to make it half as easy, but everything else such as any tools and a good brotherinlaw to help out who is a ase cert mechanic, do you think 2 novice (in drivetrain) guys be able to install the parts or would i be getting my self into a hole i cant get out of if i attempt it myself? or should i just be lazy and pay the mech i dont really have the money to get it installed right now, and the clutch is not in real bad shape but my mech told me the bearing would ruin the clutch if it was left in and i definatly do not want to be stranded without a car for me and my fiance, i do have transportation via another car but it is in the process of getting the title in order to drive i would drive it but it has no tag at all

take the money, buy a helms, jack, stands and tools needed. grab a friend, some food and drinks and since your a rookie make a half day out of it. youll have fun and gain experience. its honestly not that hard and u dont need a lift. 2 jack stands work fine
