Default break in question.

Now i know most of you guys if not all of you, have broke your car in before you drove the **** outta it. and there is this one person on a different forum that keeps insisting that you dont need to break in your new car as long as the car is warmed up; to drive it hard. i say you need to do both. any other opinions/answers?
