Default I want keyless entry with my new remote

I got my hands on only a remote. It says Polar on it, assuming its a command start remote, as well as keyless entry. Its got a fake 'carbon fiber' finish. It belonged to another car before.

I was wondering if its possible to program it to work on my '96 Integra SE. It has power locks, but I have no remote.

So, there must be a way to make this remote compatible with my power door locks eh?? I hope so.

Thanks!!

You need more than just power locks. My '99 Integra GS came with power locks, but I had to add the factory alarm/keyless entry system to it in order to have the keyless entry feature. This was not just a remote, it was an electrical component that had to be installed in the car.

If you'd like to take a look at the installation instructions for the keyless entry and alarm option, check the links below:

These are on my PC, so it'll probably load pretty slow... try right clicking and Save As... then run them from your own computer.

The chances of that remote working with the Acura system is next to none... Unless the remote belongs to the same family of alarms (Such as DEI's Viper/Python/i forget the other one) you'll be out of luck. You're either going to have to go purchase an aftermarket keyless and/or alarm system, or find a remote for an actual Honda keyless system. I'm going to take a guess and say there is a chance the remotes for a 96 Honda Civic EX, LX, HX would work with your acura as long as your acura has the factory system installed... I can't say for sure since the factory system for those year civic's is built into the radio its self.

OK great thanks guys. I was browsing through the lost in found at work, and since they were throwing all the old junk out, (had tons of keychains and stuff, only had this remote and one for a toyota) I'll see what i can do. I don't want to buy an alarm, I just want the keyless entry.

Thanks

Thanks</TD></TR></TABLE>You can get a key less entry system that you can wire into the tegs door locks for well under $50 and because all you need is a basic neg. (-) trip system you can probably find one for under $40.
