i remember this post. the owner did a great job on but i think he had to relocate it for safety...

I like it. The original location sucks, because the fuel can easily get into the grooves between the metal sheets when you accidentaly spill some. Then it kills your paint and it can start to rust

From the looks of that interior and the wheels, my vote would be that is was done for cosmetic reasons.

Slick, but pumping gas with your door open would suck...if you spilled, you chance getting it on the interior, not to mention fumes drifting into your cabin while you pump.
