Default 02 vs 05 ep hatch

Hey, I'm maybe in the market for the newist Civic Si's out. My ef is fun, but it's time to put her down from daily driver status, part her out, sell her outright, or park her for a long while.

I wanted to know if the 02 was different from the 05 in mere cosmetic form. I believe so but knew h-tech could let me know quicker than I can read.

differences are...headlights, taillights, 04-05 has sideskirts, 02-03 is 4-lug on 15 inch wheels, 04-05 is 5-lug on 16 inch wheels, but imo i think the 02-03's are better looking, just swap a 5 lug conversion on it. im not a big fan of the 04-05's ugly *** taillights . hope that helps

04-05 are slower than 02-03 because of the larger and heavier wheels. Accelaration and stopping would be slower as well. What is the point of giving bigger and heavier wheels without upgrading the brakes?

a used 02 would be cheaper and you could still swap rims from your old car 4x100

i think the 02's and 03's had a problem with grinding gears, id look for an 04-05 if i were you

plus i think the tails on the newer ones look better

so let me get this straight, you'd rather do the 4-5 lug conversion to 02-03 than head/taillight conversion to 04-05?.... I'm just wondering..

Stabi bar increased on '04-'05 as well.
Insulation (sound deadening) went up for '04 (carpet like fender liners, etc.)

Just FYI....I'm not laying claim to their value.

That is subjective, it all depends on the driver. If he does not know how to drive stick or is slamming gears any car will grind.

You're like the only one, lots of people are converting to 02-03.

Unsprung wheel weight is your enemy. Try putting on some 16" wheels, even light weight 16"(205 50 16) on an 02-03 Si and you will feel the difference. Car will feel slower and heavier, no thanks!

For the 04-05 they increased the tire size to 205 55 16" makes you think if Honda was trying to improve on performance or just comfort?
