my e-brake handle goes up to its max and the wheels arent quite locked yet...how do i adjust my e-brake so that its completey locked at like half the throw of the handle?

edit: i do cee a bolt under my center console that goes to the arm on one side and goes to each wheel to the other, do i just turn this?

 

Remove the ebrake cables from the tail end of the ebrake handle. Turn that tail end, which compresses that spring, and install the ebrake cables.

See that metal piece all the way at the end? The two cables connect in those two holes. Remove them and keep turning that piece which shortens the pull of the cables.

 

ok im pretty sure i get it:

1: disconnect the two cables from the metal "T" piece at the end
2: turn bolt the "T" piece is attached to until its tight enough
3: re-connect the metal cables

 

If you have drum brakes, you have to adjust the rear drums first before you adjust the brake lever.

how do i do that?? i know u turn the teethed part by the self-adjuster but do i turn it downwards? and how do i know when its adjusted?

 

When I replaced my ebrake handle when doing my interior swap, I tighten the tail on the ebrake handle and it's fine.

 

yup, just make sure the handle is down and tighten that center nut a lil bit and you should be good to go! I DID MINE 10 MINS AGO. works perfecttt

ok how do i know when the drum brakes are adjusted?

 

Takes a bit of feel. You turn the star wheel a couple of clicks, throw the drum back on and spin the wheel the direction of travel. Re-adjust as necessary. There should be a very slight amount of drag. That part takes some getting used to.

 

spin the wheel moderately (not 100mph there pipes!!) and it should come to a stop within one rotation...you should feel a slight amount of drag when you're rotating the wheel....

adjust your starwheels in your drums though since you haven't done this before...if you adjust at the handle you could run into problems with only 1 wheel doing all the work or miss having a ceased cable which would cause a similar problem. if you know that both brakes are working equally then go ahead and adjust the handle...
