What weight oils is best?
I have a 91 si and it 183,000 milse on it. The previous owner has always put Castrol 20w-50 in it I was told the best for it would be Vavoline 10w-30 extended life. But with 20w-50 I use about 1/2 to a full quart between oil changes. Would puting 10w-30 back in it hurt anything or cause it to use more oil?
thanks

Generally, you want a really good reason to use heavier than factory recommended weight (which is 5W30 for most Hondas). Extreme heat qualifies as a good reason, but I doubt you get that kind of heat in Florida (maybe in the middle of summer).
It sounds like the previous owner was using heavy oil to mask a tired engine. Yes, the lighter oil will burn/leak faster, but will provide better protection.
I would try the lighter oil and see what happens. If it burns away quick, switch back to the heavy stuff and start saving for an engine rebuild.
