Run a unorthodox crank pulley with turbo settup?
I currently am building towards boost with my GSR block.
I sleved, bored, and built it and am considering using the lightened crank pulley from my n/a settup.
I know the age old debate, harmonic dampened vs not. I have had no issues with n/a power, but boosted is a different story.
So with that said, what do you feel about using it with boost. (t3/t4 14-20psi)
?

supposedly for every 1 pound you take off you crank it yeilds 3hp. i think a lot of people don't think its worth the money for what you get out of a crank pulley, but if you have it, and the motor is out, why not put it on and if it gives you problems just put back on the oem pulley

I'll elaborate on that^^^^^Cause' I agree.
The Unorthodox and similar pullies have no way to reduce/absorb vibration. Therefore if the vibration has nowhere to go the oil pump(gears) and engine bearings will suffer. The OEM pulley's do there job perfectly but there are aftermarket options that are good as well. Fluidamper and the ATI super Damper are good choices.

from what I learn..stock is good for the stock internals........
when you change the internals to forged a fluidamper is better for keeping the harmonics down...correct me if i wrong....still in training

going from what you guys are saying and the endless threads on harmonic balancing/crank pulleys/ect I will go oem and flip the unorthodox w the n/a settup. - i have 2 gsr blocks, but one is going to help pay for the other
