is the honda aero 50 (1985) classified as a moped or motorcycle?
Anything under an 80cc is considered a moped. With a moped you don't need it licensed or insured and if you are over 19, you don't need to wear a helmet.
Of course these rules might change by state, so somebody correct me if I am wrong on this.

i called the oregon dmv, n they said if it's under 50ccs and doesn't go over 30 mph, then it's a moped, but you need liability insurance on it, and you need to wear a helmet.
of course, mine is under 50cc's 49ccs.. but it does go about 35mph, but they don't need to know that. haha

That's pretty cool, in OH it has to have pedals and can't go over 25 mph. It's definition of a moped is a motorized bicycle. You can't have the scooter or motorcycle configuration here.
