A/C Hot/Cold Knob and Panel? Where to find, which will fit ? 89CRX
I have an 89 CRX si and I'm trying to get my AC back up and running. The AC hot/cold **** is broken - one of the two metal pieces that the **** connects to is broken off and the surrounding plastic is cracked and sunken in.
Anyone know where I can find a replacement? Will the parts from an 88-91 Civic fit? Does anyone have a spare they want to get rid of?
I found ONE junkyard that has it and they want $100 for one with a crack in it....
thanks!

unfortunately your probably going to have to buy something like that. I have attempted to fix mine as one of them have the same problem. I think that in this situation your going to break down and buy that piece. Sorry dude I know it sucks.
There's got to be someone with a parts car laying around...
Any word on whether the 88-91 Civic climate control unit will work in a CRX?

Yeah so I called the honda dealership and they can order the Climate Control Unit for a mere $364!

The piece you are referring to suffers one of the few outright design flaws in the entire car. Given the age of all the 88-91s, most will either have some degree of cracking or develop one soon.
The 88-91 Civic is not a bolt in affair.
Neither is the JDM version.
Now, I have seen a few conversions to a 90-93 Accord control here on Honda-Tech. I don't know the amount of work involved but they don't crack...might be worth investigating further.
And I'm one of the suckers that bought a new one...at least it was through a buddy who got the employee discount. Still cost me $220.
