Mt Hamilton + Jboy = Stranded Adventure (detailed story inside)
So I have been hearing about this pretty fun twisty road on Mt. Hamilton and decided to try it out. As I start on my journey I make sure I have my digital camera, and my gf suggests two bottles of water. We load up and head off to Mt Hamilton.
On our way there, I see a red wrx sedan that is kind of pacing me on the road leading to Mt Hamilton.

Some how I lose sight of him, think nothing of it and am on my way. I make a few turns up this winding road, when suddenly in my rear view mirror I see the same wrx sedan on my ***. So I decide to play a little. (This is my first time on this road mind you)
I start to speed up when my gf starts screaming at me to slow down and starts smacking my arm. That's when I start thinking, (damn I shouldn't of taken her) As I am trying to calm her down, the wrx really starts riding my ***. Well to make a long story short, I down shift to second gear and start spooling up to third on a sharp s curve. My right front tire slightly catches the end of the pavement on a pot hole. I hear a loud pop coming from my right tire. ****!!! I pull over at the safest spot on the side of the road. The wrx keeps going passed me (I don't think he noticed at the time that I had a flat).

Looks normal enough..

Wait a minute, something is not right here.
Already thinking about my options, I know that I have to call AAA Roadside Assistance since my dumb-*** does not have a spare tire or jack. I break out the cell phone and I get no service. I then try my gf's cellphone and get no reception also. About 30 minutes has passed and the wrx wagon is coming back from down the mountain. He sees me still parked, so he decides to pull over and help me out.

The owner of the wrx was totally cool and drove us back towards a spot where we can get reception and I give AAA a call. They respond in less than 15 minutes with a flatbed!!

They tell me since I am a AAA plus member, I have 100 free miles towing. (I totally take this membership for granted, I was about to cancel it.)
So I thank the owner of the wrx, and hitch a ride back home in the tow truck and this ends my Mt Hamilton experience.

I feel that this is karma coming back to me, since I have helped strangers in the past that I have seen stranded.
I think that we would of been stuck there for a while, because no one wanted to help and we were in such a remote area.
The moral of this story is. Don't bring your bitching *** girlfriend when you go up a nice twisty mountain and bring a spare tire and jack!!
Just wanted to share today's experience, sorry its so long..

You can reach it by taking the alum rock or tully exit in san jose and stay on the road up towards the mountain.

Damn dood! You popped your tire where I sh0t my car so many times lol. You shouldn't have been tryin to go so fast on such a bad road. I've been on that road over a dozen times and I'm telling you, they don't pave that road for ****.
That road is very dangerous to be driving like Takumi, the tofu delivery boy.
Right over that pass, there is a small county park called Grant Park. Alot of mountain bikers, hikers, runners, etc. use that road to get to the park. So there are plenty of cars passing by, and at any turn you are bound to run into another car. <---- not good
Nextime, if you have a good suspension setup, go up all the way past Grant Park up to the Observatory. On a clear day, if you look up that way from the valley, you can see it. That view is spectacular. Just remember, the road up there is the one less traveled, and also poorly maintained.
