I've heard my 01 R is running on OBD3 (correct me if this is wrong), and if I put a test pipe on, I am pretty sure the CEL will come on. does it mean the car is running on Satefy mode if you CEL is on? and if so, anyone has an solution for this?

And for those who is using test pipe, is it worth? (performance wise)

its OBD II version II....there is no OBD 3 yet.

Yes, a test pipe will through a code, and the car will run perfectly fine with a test pipe.

 

thanks junglistgsr, but in term of putting on a test pipe, is there any different between OBD2-1 and OBD2-2?

anyone have test pipe on OBD2-2?

Yes, OBD2vI in my experience usually wont throw a code with a testpipe, OBD2VII will.

I run a high flow cat instead, but I know a number of people using a testpipe on their OBD2VII cars.
