Prelude/Civic engine swap (literally!)
I had this crazy idea last weekend when I was changing the oil on my girl's Civic. Everyone knows how I sold my lude but my parents want to keep it for my step-sister. My g/f can barely even afford her Civic EX so she won't be getting anything faster and my step-sister is a retard so she won't know what she has in the lude. I was thinking of swapping engines. I know it seems stupid, but has anyone seen a Prelude with a Civic motor? That would be kinda amusing to me. That and I just wanna do the swap for fun. Besides the basic hybrid modifications, would anything have to be done to literally trade engines?
let me know when you are going to the track so I can bring my sundial.
heh - all kidding aside, I can't even imagine how much room you'd have in the engine bay.

And your going to be on the same racetrack as I? Goodness....

I can just picture your step-sister bringing it in to the dealership for an oil change or something. And the techs gathered around the car scratching their heads.
Of course, I'm sure some dealerships wouldn't even notice the difference. I bet they'd put in an H22 quota of oil, and overfill the D16 nicely. Or try to cram an H22 filter onto the D16.

H22 and D16 take same filters. H22 takes a tad bit more oil though.....
I'd feel sorry for the lude, but if someone who isn't goign to appreciate the car anyway is driving it....go for it; at least the lude will still live on as the heart in a civic.
Better yet, do the swap, take it to a dyno, take the dyno readout to the Honda dealership and start accusing them of fraud for the "claimed" hp output. Get the management all in a stir and then just laugh at there asses!
good luck moving that prelude around with a bit over 100lb/ft of torque. are you kidding? i mean, yeah the swap is possible but that civic motor is gonna be under so much stress. and besides, it's gonna cost some $$ to put that thing in there, nobody makes a mount kit for that swap, think about tranny mounts, etc...
with the money you would spend on both swaps you could get another motor for that civic. not worth it.... don't kill the prelude man.
