Any word yet on the 06' bikes?
When do they (Yamaha, suz, etc.) release their list for the next year models? nothing has been said yet right? any word on who will be changing out their current setup like suz did this year? if not what do you guys think?
The 2006 gixxer is already on suzuki website. Its only the 1000. The red and black color scheme is back.On the site the say it will be lighter 8-20 pounds depending on the comp And it will be faster.

I'm guessing Suzuki will be the only middleweight to go through some changes (ie;lose a few pounds)..I'm 99% sure that Honda's CBR 600RR won't be touched, other than color scheme's until 2007.They recieved some big changes for 05,so they'll hold onto that until atleast 07.

I'm looking forward to that. I like the 1000RR but the weight and power keep turning me away. why pay more for something less?

I'm interested in seeing if any of the open classers (ZX-12R, Busa, CBR-XX, etc) are going to be redesigned for 2006. I'm starting to wonder if this class is dead.... it's starting to look that way.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far. The 1000RR is only $300 more than the other 1000 cc supersports. If you're paying $11k for something I hardly think $300 is going to break the bank.
As far as raw power its up there with the other bikes, I was just saying if you're gonna update the bike might as well give it more juice. It is definitely overweight compared to the other bikes so I would say they need to improve on that.
By all accounts the 1kRR is the easiest to ride of the supersports which is something that is very important when you're talking about bikes with that kind of power. Its great to have 140+ rwhp but its useless if its difficult to put it down without going into a tank slapper. That said, 2006 1000RR should have more power, less weight.

Had some busa enthusiasts from out of town this weekend tell me that the 06 busa was going to be a 1500???
They said the hayabusa design team got sore when the 05 1000 beat out the busa in the 1/4. I dunno how much truth is to that, probably none. Just what i've been hearing. I think suzuki might be in for a change on the 07' 600's and 750's, but as of now they are keeping 600 and 750 designs.
I think a 1500 busa is a little toooo much.

Personally, the busa is a tank and no longer serves a real purpose besides insane high speed cruising (perhaps autobahn). The better 1000s only lose to it in comfort, they outpower, speed, and outhandle the busa. Id like suzuki to can that model, its just an eyesore.

yeah thats true but then again you need to remember that there is $ in it. 95% of the busas sold are in the US. why? because there are so many people out there who want the biggest baddest bike out there. How long has it been since the busa was totally revamped? I don't know the answer to that so i leave it to you guys, now compare that busa to the 1000cc bikes of the same year. imagine the technology of today with a 1300cc motor in a super light weight package like the K5. i grantee it would sell. sure it wouldn't handle as good as the 1Kcc bike but it would be a high speed cruiser which is why people would buy it. as for the 1500cc thing i keep hearing the same thing. I saw a concept photo of a busa that had a headlight of the K5 and sharper fairings rather then the super smooth ones on the current busa.
I herd a claim that a dealer in England had a brochure from Suzuki of a factory supercharged busa for 06' which I think is BS but you never know, even if they listed it at $15,000 im sure it would sell out.
