Removing emblems...
OK guys, don't laugh.
I have a '97 and I was curious to know the easiest way to remove the "H" emblems from the hood and trunk, as well as the "PRELUDE" on the rear bumper, and finally, the "DOHC VTEC" sticker on the trunk lid.
Since the car's a '97 and it's Eucalyptus Green, I was sort of worried that there might be some difference between the paint below the emblems and the rest of the paint. What do you think? This car is very well maintained, but I was just worried about that...

Yup, I second that motion. But use a hairdryer first just to make it easier with the fishing line!

prelude on bumper: hairdrier good, screwdriver bad. fishing line works pretty well, then use "Goo Gone" to get rid of the adhesive residue. tip: wrap the line around a wood dowel (thats what i use) to make like a t-handle
hood: there are two holes under the honda badge that the alignment pins go into
trunk: dont know, might be same as front
vtec sticker: couple ways to go...hairdrier to peel the sticker off and goo gone or what we use at my shop, eraser wheel, available at autobody supply stores

I just de-badged my lude this week. I had a posting not too long ago about it. The DOHCvtec, typeSH, and Prelude I used a blow dryer. Just blow dry whatever for a while and when its really hot it will peel off. Just peel it off slowly. Like for othe DOHCvtec sticker you have to blow dry it a few times. The glue behind it gets cool pretty quick, so you would have to blow peel blow peel a few times. Once you off it off, you will still have the glue sticky stuff behind it. Just buy GOO GONE and apply it over it.I just poured it over the sticky part, wait a few times and use a soft cloth to wripe it off. You have to do this a number of times before its all gone. Depending on your paint, chances are the area behind it is gonna be in better shape. I was told waxing it will blend it in but I havent had a chance to do that yet but you can barely till unless you get upclose.

Sorry for the crappy camera phone pics but you get the picture. Oh, if you remove the emblems you will have 2 small holes. Thats why I left mine. Front and back has 2 pins on the emblem. Good luck man!

I just finished it... Since the car's a 97, you can see the word "PRELUDE" if you look at the bumper just right. It's not bad though. I might run a coat of light polish and a finishing wax over it to see if that helps any.
