Default Timing Question....Need Advice

I rebuilt my engine and re-installed it. Me being the genius that I am, I didn't re-install the timing belt cover that has the timing mark on it so a timing light is useless at this point. Any suggestions?? I really need to get a timing light on this thing.

yeah you need a to put the cover on it. only other way is just listen to it make sure you dont here any knocking "deton" and ride it out but if your timing is correct with a non adj gear I dont see any problems just adj the dizzy but once again I would put cover back on it.

That's the problem. I can't put the cover back on. It slips over everything that moves and the engine is in the engine bay.

and? so? instead of risking damage to your engine, rip the belts and crank pully belt on, and check your timing..
