Prelude high pressure fuel line problem
The fuel line going from my fuel filter to my fuel rail melted and started to leak fuel. We considered replacing the hose but it has ends crimped on the hose so we can't simplt replace the hose. What we are thinking is cutting the hose around the hole and making a patch with a larger piece of hose. We would clamp down and seal the patch as much as possible to prevent leaking.
A guy at an auto parts store said since the line is under such high pressure that patching it would be a mistake and would not hold. How much pressure are we talking about??? Would this patch hold, atleast for a few weeks until i can buy the $90 hose??

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Figure at 50 psi alot of fuel can get sprayed all over.
