A little help with ls vtec swap
I have a 99 si and was told something about the ls vtec swap. Is there and figures out there on this and a list of things need to perform this swap. I just want to know if its worth the effort or not, because I plan on turbocharging it and if the swap is going to complicate that or be better. any comments would be greatly appreciated.
dude, i'll tell you before anyone else does....try searching. ive compiled a bunch of stuff on a ls-ls/vtec-b18c5 swap by searching, thats all u have to do.
its really not that simple to build a "reliable" lsvtec sure you could just slap a vtec head on a ls block but i wouldnt recomend it. tenlarge is right do a search youll find tons of pros and cons to the lsvtec. honestly if i were you i would just boost your b16.

I would go ***** out with the LS/VTEC swap, that's what I'm currently building. If money is tight though stick with what you have. I threw a rod in my JDM B16 so I had to do something. But I'm going to spend say $3,500 before I even turn that key. Sending everything out to be machined. When it comes back I will micro-polish everything. That 20K grit sanding cloth can make alum. look like chrome. In this time the whole car will be stripped down to the unit-body. I'm building up the whole car around this swap. 5-lug conversion etc. If you are looking for something inexpensive yet reliable, LS/VTEC isn't the way.
