Default B18 Piston question...

I'm getting ready to do an LS swap into my 1994 Civic EX. I'm going to be using a B16 transmission and B18B block... However, the powertrain will be sitting in the shop for quite sometime, so I figure I may as well go ahead and do some internal work.

So I've been doing a bit of searching, and turned back a few things. It looks like B16 pistons would be the way to go... But what type? B16A, B16B? I'm not looking for an insane 13:1 compression ratio or anything. Somewhere from 11:1-12:1 would be great. Also, I haven't turned back anything on what Crankshaft is decent for this set-up.

Any suggestions?

Type R pistons wont yield 12:1 on an ls block - you'll need forged aftermarket pistons to get that range. CTR in an ls block will be 11:1 tops
Thats with the ls crank, anyway

yea ctr pistons will give u the highest compression but only 11:1. u will need aftermarket ones if u want a higher compression

Appreciate the link Tum-Yeto. I've been looking for that page for a while.

So it's looking like with my B18B with P30 pistons, I should have a 11.3:1 CR. Granted, with OEM Headgasket, and no milling. Then once I swap the GSR Head on, that should bump me up to a 12.1:1 CR... Damn, this should be fun

Thanks again guys.
