Code 9, questions.
Code 9 is blinking on my ecu, which is supposedly the tdc sensor or some such. Checked for resistance between the 2 wires, none, so it's definitely dead.
Problem is that it tripped the code the first time i really got on it since new rings, timing belt etc (400 miles since, never went above 5k til now, and took it to 7k+). So.. is it just coincidence the check engine light came on the first time i really got on it, or does that mean i slipped the timing belt?
The timing belt.. seems to me that if the timing belt were to slip, code 8 and code 1 would also be tripped.. regardless of the code9 sensor, since the code8 sensor also checks for proper timing (sorry i can't remember the names of these sensors, new to hondas). This make sense? Or am i just thinking too much?
Also, where would i buy the tamper resistant torx wrench needed to disassemble the dizzy?
Sorry for bringing up stuff that has been kinda covered before, i read a lot of the old 'code 9' threads, and didn't see anything dealing exactly with these questions, though they were very helpful in finding the bad sensor.

i doubt a code 9 would be caused by a timing belt issue.. i think its just a case of bad luck. i thought about rebuilding my distributor when i was throwing a code 9, but it seemed to me that there were way too many parts that had to be in exactly the right position for it to work, and i found a new distibutor on ebay for $150. i just did that and its been about 5 months with no problems.
