How much power are you putting on your Stock LSD?
what the subject says...
Im trying to weigh my decision to get a quaife&complete rebuild or a brand new ITR trans. For a boosted integra wanting to achieve 400whp.

IMHO, that's kind of pushing it. The lifespan of the Torsen axle might have more to do with how you're using the car.
I'm assuming that if you're wanting that much HP on a DC2, that it's a special drag car project, in which case you have to face the fact that you'd hook up better with a different kind of LSD.
My last Dynojet was 197 HP. No problems at all, but I'm only at about half the HP that you are looking for.
If you can scare up Steve Sakai, he would have a definite answer for you.

There are lots of people boosting high numbers on a stock Type R transmission. As George has stated, if your car is intended for track duty...more specifically, hard launches then not only should the LSD be upgraded but it may be safer to install some aftermarket axles.
I haven't heard of issues with either the LSD or axles because not many people are hard launching all the time.

This will still be a car thats streetable on pump gas. I will launch only sometimes. is the type r Still a good choice for me?

The limited slip will most likely hold up better than the axles.
In any case you will probably break any number of other things before the Torsen diff, though they do wear with time.
Are you going to be building the block?

I'm sure the diff would hold up fine, but even at bone stock power levels I think its somewhat insufficient for track use - i'd look into a quaife or a clutch (ATS, Kazz, etc) diff.
