goodbye hatchback :(
well this was my second hatchback... my first was an phantom grey eg which i only got to enjoy for about a month and a half... then of course (i live in jersey) the **** got stolen... moving forward i find myself a good deal on a red ek hatch which needed some tlc which i was giving it little by little... my little daily driver...
anyhow... it's about 2-230am after some rain on the new jersey turnpike car side going south around exit 8a before the merge in south jersey... i'm on my way down to mcguire afb to pre-position at billeting/hotel for work in the morning instead of getting up early as hell and driving down and being tired... i figured i'm already awake i'll drive down now there won't be any traffic or ******** on the road... just the 5-0... so i'm actually doing the speed limit for once and all of the sudden i see some car in my rear view mirror at this point far away moving super fast... i'm thinking to myself... it's the 5-0 or some dude dipping in the night... so i don't think anything of it at first... then it starts moving into the middle lane where i'm at... i'm like damn must be 5-0 then... i check my speed etc... they like to roll right up on your bumper.... but this car just seems to be increasing in speed... so i think nah that can't be 5-0... must be a speeder... and i tense up and bang he slams into me... it had been raining so my efforts to control the car are worthless... the car spins about three times and finally comes to a complete stop facing the opposite way in traffic against the guard rail on the shoulder... dude's car stopped or he stopped about 2000 feet up the road with from what i hear my rear bumper attached to his car... this young kid smelled like alcohol... said he kinda just blanked out... i don't get it.. but i wasn't in the mood to talk to him after i climbed out the window.... the cops roll up only issue him a careless driving ticket... and give him the most bullshit sobriety test i ever seen... they took him behind my car and made me move.... i didn't see him walk no line or anything... wtf... they said they smelled some alcohol but he was okay? **** that break out the breathalizer.... they acted like i was the one who hit him??? whatever... we'll see what happens...
