That bike would be a great starter bike in my opinion. I don't know too many sites for performance parts and all the sites I've been to suck.

If you want a good sportbike forum though try http://www.esportbike.com go to the new riders forum there are alot of older riders there with alot of experience.

And if you new to motorcycling and want to see some carzy action, I don't know how far you are from Daytona but next month is gonna be carzy with BIKE WEEK. all the motorcycles you can handle.

So is it better to get a light bike like that, or a medium one?

it does depend on what you're comfortable with. i kinda went against better advice when i got my kawi 750. its a 450lb bike. sposed to be kinda big and heavy and a pain in the *** if it tips over...

but i am 6 ft 3 in and 260lbs and the thing feels light to me and i havent had problems with dropping it when i make a low speed stop with the handlebars turned or anything like that. like when u do a u turn and realize u are too wide and u have to stop and back up...easy to drop in that situation.
