Default Adjusting Ignition Timing on a 94 dx?

I went to adjust my ignition timing on my 94dx and was reading my chiltons and noticed it said for 93-95 you just warm the car up and connect the timing gun up and line it up with the red mark on the pulley. On my old 88-91's Ive always had to connect a jumper wire and my chiltons said for 92's you find the plug in the right side kick panel and hook a jumper to it. Why would the 93-95's not need this? Dont they use the same wiring harness and ecu? If my book was wrong could someone tell me the correct way to this on a 94? The pos is all stock btw.

On my 93 Civic i have to use the Jumper. Is your car jdm? lol j/k The best way to double check is look on the hood its usually some where on that sticker underneath. Or you can do it the lazy way and just put the dist in the middle and you should be good. Or you can set it all the way forward and just make sure it doesn't ping.

Is the jumper under the hood on your 93 or is inside near the ecu?

I have a 95 Civic DX and my book said I needed to use the jumper to check ignition timing. I have a Haynes Manual.

The Jumper is there, inside a blue (or is it green) hood. What your car doesnt have, is the three pin Data-Link Connector. But the ECU jumper connector is there. Jumping it is the only way you can keep your ECU from trying to "fix" the adjustments you make to the timing.

I found what would look like a jumper wire plug. It was on the drivers side under the hood on a harness near the strut tower. It only has a blue wire and no other wire on the other side of the plug. I dont think using a jumper would work on this. Anyone got a pic of a 94-95 with this plug Im supposed to use the jumper wire on? Im kinda bothered because I know If Im suppose to jump a wire and I dont adjusting the timing did nothing and the ecu tries to correct it back to the before setting.

The wire you need to Jumper should be located on the passenger side by the kick panel try looking around there. Should be the only 2-wire plug that isnt plugged into anything. http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/06.php here is a link that has pics of what you are looking for.
