Thinking about buying a prelude
Personally, I like the power, comfort, and styling of the 97-01 Ludes. I also like the styling, handling, and price of the 88-91 Ludes. I like nothing about the 92-96 Ludes, and it seems that everyone has one.
However, these are all opinions and yours are the only ones that matter. I mean, it's a Honda Prelude. You can't really go wrong with anything you buy (unless you get a chik-ride auto). Do some browsing and see what you like.

Just kiddin.
I have personally owned both, and I can honestly say that I am much more pleased with my 4th gen. The dash is unique (good), the seats kick *** compared to 5th gens, it has Hondas sexiest/most aggressive front end ever. Also, In my area (Boston) 4th gens are much more rare then 5th gens. The list could go on and on, but most important on my list is the speed advantage, due to slightly different gearing and reduced weight, that the 4th gen has. I had an I/E 5th gen that I sold to a buddy, and when I picked up my bone stock 4th gen we ran 'em both from a stop and a role and I walked pretty good. In my 4th gen I broke into the high 14s (14.856 to be exact) completely stock, on my first run, my first time there in that car. However, even with intake, exhaust, and several trips to the track, the best I could get the 5th gen to was a 15.142. Now, all of the BS I posted about looks, interior, ect. is all my opinion and can be ignored, but the numbers I posted are facts.
