Hey, I've got a 91 CRX Si with 220k miles that's not quite in mint condition. It has some rust here and there, but the interior is in excellent condition. I've got 15'' slipstreams on the way with falken tires and eibach springs waiting to be installed.

I was pulling into work after my lunch break yesterday when a friend from high school pulls in and offers me $3000 for my car right there. Now, I didn't ask if he actually had the money or anything but I'll soon find out.

On one hand, this is an offer I can't refuse. But $1450 will be going to my dad because that's what he paid for it, leaving me with $1550 to play with for my next one. The problem here is that I have NEVER seen another CRX Si around here, so one of these, or even an 88-91 Civic hatch is very hard to find in southeast Missouri.

So basically, should i go for it?

 

dont sell it just fix the rust before it gets worse and do a swap

 

id keep your car for now and once you save up more then sell it or swap it

 

Thanks guys...I'd like to get it repainted to its original red and do a swap. I guess I won't worry about selling it unless I get my hands on a nice Civic hatch or another CRX...

 

theres a reason why he is willing to pay 3k for your crx. probally the same reason you are nto selling it. rex si are just rarer and rarer.

 

If it's the only one around, which your saying it is... Keep it! Fix the rust before it gets worse than think about doing a swap

 

I've only seen two or three around here. One was just trashed, the other is riced out and I haven't heard good things about it. Thanks again..Can't wait to get my slips!

No joke, even here in Cali where there are a handful of rex's here and there, to find a good condition SI will take a while.

But keep in mind that unless the sunroof is a must, having an SI is more of a liability than an asset.

sell that ish...3000 for a crx with rust...

buy my car then...3500, no rust on the body at all

 

Hey man donnt sell. This one guy offerd 5,000 for my 88 hatch with minor rust and other minor headache problems. I flat out said no way, I told my wife that she slaped the back of my head and said" you can get a better new one". I told her "you dont see me trading you for a new model". Lets say slept on the couch for a while. What i am trying to say is that some of us go thru hell to get a hatch or rex and fix it stay with it. I have good and bad memories of my hatch but she is still in my garage and the mini van is outside.

lol.....well put.. i love my rex and if u do a motor swap youl love it 10x and 10x on that if u do it your self..

 

don't sell CRX, you will probably regret it later. very hard to find any crx here

btw: someone offered me 8K for my '91...sorry not for sale

ive got a hf with a sunroof

 

dont sell it! crx lovers know its hard to find good condition (even with minor rust) rexes, and when they find one they keep it. more so with Si's. i love my Si, wouldnt sell it for anything

 

crx's is a classic car

there at least 10 yrs old and every year after that, it's becoming scarce

And also if you don't wanna go through the headache of rear disc break conversions.

 

Where in the world do you guys live. You should have sold them come to texas and buy a mint condition SI 89-91 Hatch or CRX for 2500 tops. Then drop the 2500 in the SOHC motor and suspention and had a 12 second car. I need to drive my car there and sell the dang thing.
