Default window tint issues

Well, i've read every post on how to remove window tint and decided to tackle it myself today (back window with defrosters) so i did the ammonia and bag trick and it seemed to work well. Well I was wrong on that one. The tint came off all in one big sheet and what looked like the glue was left behind. Turns out that window tint is apparently made up of 2 layers and if its old the top layer will seperate. Well now i have a thin layer of glue with the bottom layer of tint whcih is very brittle on my back window and i'd like to save my defroster lines. Can anyone suggest anything at this point? this bottom layer wont just peel off like the top one did. Maybe something strong that will dissolve it?

I didn't use Goo Gone when I removed mine.

Just some Windex, paper towels, and a razor blade.

Worked very well.

spray brake clean on a rag not the window (because it will discolor your plastics) and it will come right off.

does the brake cleaner dissolve the tint or something?

well today i gave up on all of the goo gone and goof off crap and just tried this stuff:

Tal-Strip paint remover, its really strong stuff and i used rubber gloves and a old rag to put it on the window. After like 10 minutes the old glue and crap peeled right off the window. And i saved my defrosters Just in case anyone needs something to try thats SUPER strong thats the stuff to use. Just dont get it on your clothes and if it drips on plastic wipe it off right away
