idle bouncing around after replacing head? come on engine gurus,
im just finished putting the head on and set timing well , my engine is just jumping around aroung 2k, and not idleing right ,what could it be??? o miss my car, please help , im guessing a vacum leak but besides that???
edit: it goes aroung 1k rpm when i unplug the #1 piston the one closer to the drivers side , but im just like :wtfsign:

LOL funny
my idle is bouncing around a lot , a week ago it got overheated, head go wraped
rebuilt and machined head,
installed
now my idle is bouncing around a lot around 2k rpms,
when i unplug the fuel injector from #1 piston it idles ok , BUT i think it supposed to run on all four.
what could it be i checked all my wiring and looks good and how do i check for vacum leaks?

The fast idle valve or whatever at the back of your intake manifold if it's a b16 dunno about other models, check if it's tightened down, the vaccum hose in front attaches to the fuel pressure regulator.
Make sure both are in place properly

well now that im thinking about it im rechecking my hoses and my vacums again,(if i spray carb starter ill go to normal if a leak is found right)
also would bad compression couse that?? ill check it tommorow just to make sure its ok,
and replace my pvc since its just old, will that couse that??\
say thanks for all you guys help i know my english is bad,

check to see if you have the plugs mixed, i know i did mix the two that are behind the manifold and mine would not start. When it did, it was idling like that also.
i checked with my bros car and their ok , i also tought of that, i beat u to it lol well im going to cry lol

take off the fast idle thermo valve from the throttle body. Actually take the throttle body off the intake manifold b/c its easier to do this way. Unscrew the two little screws holding the backing plate to the fast idle thermo valve. And underneath there is a little wax peice that threads into the valve body. Screw this back in with a large flat head, put the screws for the backing plate back in, and put the throttle body back on, start her up and see how she runs.
Also check the idle air control valve on the back of the intake manifold. If the screen is dirty remove the two bolts and coolant lines and clean the screen, let it dry and re-install, if the problem persists try unplugging the idle air control valve. If it stalls i would replace it, or try another iacv that you know works.
