To all rule gurus, here's my question...

Can I remove my power steering components/rack? I'm asking because I think I can. Both 92-95 Civics SI/EX/DX are all class for ITA. Now the SI and EX came with power steering and the DX did not. So, because both the Civic SI and DX are in the same model line, then I would think that I can run a DX steering rack which does not have have power steering.

Car being built: 1992 Honda Civic SI
Class: SCCA ITA

Nope. You can only up- and back-date among years/models on ONE spec line of the IT rules. The EX, DX, and Si are on different lines. In fact, the '92-94 Si and '94-95 SI (how silly is that?) are on different spec lines so you can't actually up- or back-date between those years.

Someone REALLY needs to write a letter to get all of that silliness straightened out.

You are right. Using my "wisdom" would allow things like a DX to swap a SI motor into it. ....Okay, question withdraw.

 

Gut the pressure relief in the pump and power seals in the rack?

I kind of like having the PS with the LSD, for tootling around in the pits or driving the race car out for coffee this morning.
