front bumper/fender removal
i was wondering if there is a thread or website that gives info on the removal of 96 Prelude front bumper and front side fender removal. I know i have seen a website for 5th gens but havent seen one for a 4th gen. thnx
Its not difficult at all. Just take a good look at it first and make sure u know the location of all the bolts that way u dont try to pull anything while its still bolted down.
For the front bumper there are two bolts in the engine bay, one near the battery and one near the washer fluid filler. There are two bolts that are accesible from the front of the bumper, a little bit towards the middle from each turn indicator. Also make sure to take the bolt out from the fender well on each side that holds the bumper cover in and disconnect the sides of the bumper cover from the clips on each side.
I am assuming the idea is to remove the bumper cover and bumper/shock absorber. Definetely get a helms if you want a good reference. There are also two or so bolts on the front of the bumper near the emblem that hold on to the front of the frame. It's hard to give a good/thorough description without my helms in hand and you having a helms (unless you do, in which case I suggestion you turn to the body section and look at the appropriate subsections
).

Front Bumper: Theres the plastic screws between the headlights on the top of the bumper, theres two plasic ones that are parallel with the ground under the bumper near the middle. There are two screws in the fenders (one on each side). You will have to pull back the plastic fender guard thing to get to them. Then just pull it straight out.
Fenders: There are bolts in the engine bay, then theres a tough one that is covered by the plastic side skirt, and another that is by the door hinge. I believe there is another bolt that is near the front of the fender.
Good luck
