idles too high

idles too high
my 86 accord idles around 2, sometimes over. if i tap the gas it drops to around 1.5 or 1.6, then climbs again... any thoughts?
also, where do i check my tranmission fluid? i have searched and searched and cant find either a dipstick or a cap that can be removed... is there something i'm missing?

chk accell cable make sure it is not too tight,, could have binding linkages,
as for the tranny fluid chk if it is a 5sp there is a 17mm plug you chk fluid from on the left upper side of rt axle ..if it is auto there is a dipstick below the lower radiator hose you might have to move hose slightly to see it , it unscrews
