Default seat belt lock

i saw this product (CG Lock) on speed this morning while getting ready for school, and thought it was neato. it installs on the stock belt and is supposed to help keep your slimy *** planted in the seat better if you don't have a harness. anyone here used it, have opinions? i'm thinking it might be a nice $40 investment to tide me over until the happy day when i can get a pimpy race seat and quit hitting my helmet on the edge of the sunroof. TIA

It works well. I have one and loan it out to my students. It keeps your hip snug to the seat. Not bad for $40. It's easier than doing the twisting of the seatbelt buckle.

I have one somewhere I've never used, if you're interested.

a student of mine had them in his STi. The seats in that car suck for track use like nothing else. The CGlock worked very well considering.
Nowhere near as effective as a real harness, but if you dont have a rollbar, the cglock is the way to go.

I made something similar years ago for less than $10 (price adjusted for inflation). Was a nice way to hold myself into the stock seat.

I have one. It's clever enough that I use it on the street. I could see it being a real boon for autocrossers, one less stupid hoop to jump through when getting in the car (sliding seat back, messing with seabelt, sliding forward, etc.)

I have been paid to mention that Frisby Race Tire is an authorized distributor of these, with shops conveniently located in Gurnee IL, and Las Vegas NV. http://www.frisbyracetire.com

I also have the CGlock and it works great but like elgorey said "Nowhere near as effective as a real harness" which is also now in the car.

But you can't beat the price for a little more support.

Child car seats have a tensioner for when you use a shoulder belt that does the exact same thing. I stole the one off of my son's old car seat (we never used the part anyway since our car has LATCH). It was free and it does the same thing. It make a pretty big difference when tracking with my stock EK flat seats.

I've also have one in brand new condition (used in my Mustang for about 6 autocross runs) that I'd be happy to sell. Fire me a PM if interested.
