Default JDM Steering Wheel (Unusual)

Has anybody ever seen one of these steering wheels on a DC2?

I'm aware of one in British Columbia (Raging Angel) but he won't sell it.

Apparently the wheel was a Honda Access option in markets where air bags in certain years were not mandatory.

I finally got "japandy" to take an EK wheel and switch hubs for the DC, so we'll see how that fits when it gets here.

This search started because of my stupid wish to have a non-airbag but OEM wheel in the DC2 ITR, but didn't like the "JDM steering wheel" that everybody else has.

I don't mind the size of the USDM ITR steering wheel, because it lets me drive like Barney Oldfield in the corners. I'm hoping this wheel will allow the same thing.

He seemed adamant last year. I already sent money to our friend.

If it works, it works and I don't care what it looks like.

If it does not feel the way I want, then I can un-pad the USDM wheel and bolt it back on, or bite the bullet and get one of the smaller diameter JDM wheels.

Looks like a wheel out of an 88 civic.

The JDM ITR non-srs wheel fits perfect, they're easy to find for under $200, and at 350mm I think its the 'perfect' size for a street/track car.

My car last year: (:sniff: )

I wasnt sure I could cover my *** when/if I wadded it up on track. The new track car is paid for, and much cheaper to replace the shell if "it" happens.

i've actually seen a factory jdm steering wheel that is somewhat of a cross between the jdm itr non-srs and that honda access one. i dont know if it is "type-r" specific, but i've only seen it for sale maybe twice in all my years in this hobby...wish i saved a pic of it, but i know its out there. the access one above i've seen available on a few occassions, the itr non-srs is everwhere you look, but this other one is pretty rare.

come to think of it, it might be a euro-spec wheel? i dont know, but if i stumble on the pic, i'll post it.

It is a Honda Access optional wheel. It's been on EG, EK, DC and God knows what else.

Argh!! How dare you pop in here with a wheel I've been trying to get for years!

Andy says he's shipped it, so I'm certainly looking forward to it. It won't look as good as yours w/the red H and red stiching, but it won't look any worse than the OEM USDM wheel, which is basically the same leather-clad wheel that came on GS-R.
