Finally swap'd now I need help
Hey guys, I finally got the 5spd swap in on my 5th gen. Only problem is the shift linkages, don't reach far enough to connect to the shifter. The car was started and it drives fine when shifting with fingers. I called the guy I bought the parts from and he said the linkages are from a 5th gen, and the shifter/plate is either 4th/5th gen. SO WHY THE FAWK ARE THE CABLES TO SHORT? When I clipped the cables into the front of the shifter plate, the cables only extened 5 3/4 inches and 7 1/16. Which is not enough to reach the end attachment points. Any ideas or advice?
