Default Some what long question about MPFI swap......

OK, here goes......... I just got an automtic 89 DX hatch.....my question is not about the wiring, I think I have that part covered..... I want to put the DOHC ZC motor out of my crx in it. Here is the question...Will I have any problem with the 89 auto tranny bolting to the 91 ZC motor? Also I don't really want to use the stock DX ECU to run the ZC and I happen to have an auto 89 Integra ECU...Will the Teg ECU work to run the car and if so , will any of the wiring be different? I believe that is all I need to know right now..... Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me..........

The Automatic Integra ECU should work. What you want to do is wire up MPFI as you would normally for a ZC and leave all your transmission wiring intact. If the MPFI instructions tell you to re-arrange any of your transmission wires, then contact someone like the good folks at http://www.rywire.com for advise.

transmission will bolt right up. auto integra ecu will work (DX ECU won't work anyway). you'll have to do an MPFI conversion (standard for any ZC swap) just don't change the B11 wire on the ECU.

i updated the fourthgenhatch site to include auto MPFI conversion differences.

IF the DX ECU won't work, what ECU would you recommend? Any one better to run it than the 89 Teg ECU? Oh and thanks for all of the input so far.

PM6 (88-91 Si, EX, 4WD wagon) good, lean
PG7 (88-89 Integra) better, rich
PM7 (JDM ZC) best match, of course

i'm running an auto PG7 on mine.

and, check out http://www.thezcr.com
