what is resleeving?
i did a search n didnt really come up w/the answer. im pretty familiar w/basic engine dynamics.. the reason i ask is cause i am considering boring out my cylinders and get custom pistons, but on another topic i heard about resleeving after boring.. thanx
the problem with boring the B-series blocks is that they have thin floating cylinders
By resleeving you get a thicker stronger floating sleeve less prone to crack and with more allowable space to bore out.

does anyone know how this is really done, i mean is it just more material added to the outsides of the sleeves? and who does this kind of thing.. i'd prefer a reputable place w/this kinda thing?
goldeneagle.com and darton.com
two most popular companies on this board.
goldeneagle is the cheaper one. Both are very good.
They are brand new sleeves not added metal.
try a search on this board for golden eagle or darton or sleeves.
You will find a ton of info.

Yeah...they're totally new sleeves and made of much stronger materials. Golden Eagle says it's tested to something like 60psi.
The link is actually http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com

So do they actually rip the cylinders out of the bolck and put new ones in? Doesn't sit well with me for some reason....
Anyone have pics?
I just went to their website. Their pic doesn't really tell me anything...
I don't think the 60psi is referring to boost pressure.

I have personaly resleaved a couple blocks, though they were not hondas blocks but I am sure it is the same. The block is mounted up in a borring bar machine and bored oversize but not quite as big as the replacement sleeve- a couple thousandths smaller to achive a press fit. Then the new sleeve is pressed in, the deck resurfaced and the sleeves are honed to proper dimensions. Hopefully that gives you a better idea of what is going on.
