Default Black rubber trim on OEM skirts

Just got mine today from Radley...

The skirts have a black rubber trim, did any of you take it off before installing it. Kinda looks ugly cause my car is CW and with the black trim on the kit, doesn't look that great. Looks like some of you have taken it off and I was wondering if it would be wise to do so. If I do remove it will the fitting be altered....

Thanks

yes, Keep it on. It will also rattle.

Paint it (but it will just flake off in a couple days anyway.)

Sounds good, but is there away to protecting the paint from chipping on the trimming? Maybe I can rig it up some way.... hehehe
