Default Sold Tranny - Buyer Claims Problems with It! Help!

I know it's a transmission subject, but it's kind of not a Transmission Thread.

Alright, heres the deal. I sold my old automatic transmission on ebay. My prelude is a 1998 base model. Therefore i had the Automatic Sport Shift. A guy contacted me, said he had a 1998 prelude automatic and needed to replace the transmission. He sent me an email that says:

"My problem is that the transmission is not
compatable with my 98 prelude because it is actually a
different model than the one that works on my car
which i confirmed with my dealerships parts department
and also two other honda dealerships. Your auction
clearly stated that it would fit on 97-01 preludes and
that was obviously entirely accurate."

Is there more than 1 kind of AT/Sport Shift transmissions that they put in the preludes?? or is this guy trying to shaft me?

Please help save my ***!

Regards,

-Lee

He's just trying to push you around. The SS tranny will fit any 97-01 Preludes.

Sounds like he might have found out that either his current tranny is still under warranty or that the tranny wasn't the issue at at. Now he wants to get his money back.

Either way, you are right. You sold a legitimate item. He bought it. End of story.

Link him to this thread. Where many people should tell him that it will work.

I was going to link him to this thread, but then I thought he might sign up at H-T and I didn't want to be responsible for a retard joining.

This seems to be the only thing I can do at this point :

"Just respond back and say... "yes it was acurate, thanks for buying it" "

Either way, I should NOT send the money back! Everyone agree with that??

Cannot say thank you enough!!

he trying to pull your leg, that trany will work.. most likely the dealer told him they wouldn't install his ebay trany, because they don't want to be held liable if it doesn't work.
Its like going to a coffee shop with your own coffee beans and telling the waiter to make coffee using your beans.. it just doesn't work like that
