someone answer quick!!!...sportlines
I need to know fast. I have to decide by tomorrow. I have an EG Hatch and I just bought Tokico Illuminas to replace the stock suspension. I also purchased some Eibach springs on Ebay. But I have to decide if I want pro kit or sportline. I searched, but didnt find a lot. I autocross and it is my daily driver.
I want the sportlines, but I have a couple questions...
1. will i need a camber kit?
2. anyone have firsthand experience with sportlines, how low is the actual drop on an EG hatch? did you like the ride, etc.
3. will i have to worry about speedbumps and the likes?

sportlines will drop your car about 1.8 inches, while the pro kit will drop it 1.3inches. The sportlines are a comfortable spring for daily driving and u should have no problems with speed bumps. A camber kit is not necessary but an alignment to fix the toe is a must. Hope this helps.
thanks, do you know this firsthand? what do drive or where did you find that info?
I have read that number from websites and stuff, but i always hear that those numbers are not always right. I was looking for actual drop, not advertised.

well, I decided on prokit. Did a bunch of searching and found that sportlines just dont get very good reviews. Read alot of great reviews on prokits, so that is what i am getting. Besides, I cant afford to have my car "slammed" by any means, because I live in Oklahoma and the roads suck.
do you know this from experience? like they are on your car? I am looking for performance, not lowering. And the prokits are a little lowering with performance.
yes you will need a camber kit. I have them myself and one of my friends also. if you dont get a camber kit, you will have negative camber which will wear the inside of the tire irregularly.
Its not fun replacing tires every year

I'm running the pro-kits for my DD / AutoX car. You can see my sig for pics of the drop; and it's just about perfect for me.

that is a sweet ride, AutoXer. and that is just what I needed to hear.
I am going with the pro kits. If I dont like them, then I will just have to learn the hard way. But I think I will like them. I will give you an update with pics and everything when I get them on

oh no the negative camber monster is responsible for a bad world economy and ugly chicks on TV!!!
tons of negative camber may not be for everyone, but a couple of degrees of neg. camber has never hurt anyone. on a 1.3" drop it's probably more like -1.0 degrees, aka, still within spec and nothing to worry about.

even on a 1.8" drop the ensuing negative camber angles are not bad at all.
depending on the chassis, it's what, -1.8 degrees? until it hits -4 i don't think there's all that much cause for concern.
camber kits are mostly for camber tuning purposes--it's a shame that so many people think they need them, rather, it's a shame that so many people think that they need so little negative camber.

Yeah I totally agreee with you. I normally would think that you wouldnt need a camber kit unnless you go lower. But in my case I did.
I dont know if its a thing in my area but I am just stating my experience because I have them, and I know other pople who have them who have the exact same problem whether it be with a prelude, civic whatever. I guess it may be different for others.

what struts are you running?
also kinda a general question... how would sportlines do for a dd/autoxer?

not necessarily.. I have driven a DC with the pro kit and sportline springs. both were set to -1.0 camber front and rear. 0 toe front and rear. The sportlines are a soft spring, and would bottom out on hard transitions. I have not had that problem with the prokit. (same shocks in both situations)
