the window crank handle? it has a clip that can be removed with a small hook shaped tool.

Is it located behind the door panel itself or inbetween the handle and outside panel? Thanks

Bend up a piece of welding rod or coat hanger to grab the clip and pull it free. You have to "reach" between the door handle and the surface of the door panel.

Here is a photo of the handle with the clip re-installed for reference.

Right on the money.
Just grab on of the arms of that pear shaped spring, and pull out.

Of course, at this point you should ask how to get it back on!

Install the clip on the handle (as shown in the photo) and then just push the assembly onto the shaft of the window regulator. It's that simple.

I have taken off and put on my door panels prob a total of 20 times in the past 4 months (had a bent regulator) and I didn't know this. I always put it on 1/2 way then slide it on and push the clip down. Works the same...but I learned something new.

Yeah, that's what I do; much easier than trying to catch the wire.

Besides, those suckers fly!! A towel will make sure that doesn't happen.

Eric, what are you doing to your car now??

Damn, just when I thought that you couldn't do anything more to that car. Post up pics when it's done!

Just saw that about the meet on the 24th - I'll be at a conference in Boston. You thinking about doing one at Maple Grove next year, or are they history?
