Default LSVTEC distributor, which one?

I have heard that if you are doing a dohc vtec swap in OBD0 you can use a 90-91 integra distibutor if you cut off the front leg for solenoid clearance. I have also heard you cant do it. I have a brand new integra distributor that I bought a week before my car got totaled.

The distributor is BRAND NEW. It just sucks because I was originally going to get the OBD0 b16 dizzy but dont want to throw away $250. Hence why I need to know if I can just cut the leg off and run it. I would never be able to sell it after cutting the leg off and finding out it doesn't work correctly.
